Trainer Profile

Hello, I’m Jen! My goal is to take the mind to a meditative state using rhythm as a conduit for contemplative practice.

Jennifer Young

Jennifer Young began her journey to guiding meditation and drum meditation as a teenager. As a dancer and member of the high school marching band, Jennifer experienced the meditative state that rhythm can take the mind nearly every day. Around the end of her high school senior year, Jen recovered from anxiety and depression through practicing yoga, breath work and meditation. In 2010, yoga and meditation became integral to Jennifer’s daily life once she found Gopi Kinnicutt, her yoga teacher, and Susan Piver, her meditation teacher. After receiving her 200-hr RYT and teaching yoga for a couple years, Jennifer left her career as a personal trainer to teach yoga and meditation full time. She has studied yoga with Shiva Rhea, Mark Whitwell, Ana Forrest and A.H. and Indira Mohan. Jennifer has trained with Maleda Gebremedhin to guide women through healing journeys that awaken the feminine soul. Along the way, Jennifer returned to her musical roots and took up drumming as contemplative practice. She is honored to share the healing benefits of her medicine drum, custom made in an intentional ceremonial process.

Medicine drum: Drumming is one of the oldest forms of vibrational healing on this planet, and drums and rattles have been used in shamanism for thousands of years. The beat of the drum can be used to enter into altered states of consciousness for journeying, healing, and ceremony.
