[su_dropcap style=”default” size=”3″ class=””]M[/su_dropcap]editation seems like an ancient tradition only practiced by monks, right? Not quite. Meditation is exploding in popularity. Big names, people we look up to, are adopting the practice. If that’s not enough to convince you to try it, here are a few names that might.

Jennifer Aniston

Everyone comments on her ability to stay looking young and beautiful. Plastic surgery is not the secret here, it’s meditation, says Ms. Aniston! According to tmhome.com, when asked about how she stays looking incredible, she said, “I’d say a little over a year ago, I started doing TM [Transcendental Meditation] and that’s really changed everything. Starting your day off with that and ending with that is pretty powerful. Twenty minutes, you just notice the difference! When I get lazy and don’t get it in, I can feel a difference in the day. So I try to meditate first thing when I wake up.”

Ellen DeGeneres

Ellen also practices transcendental meditation. She speaks about the David Lynch Foundation and her experience with TM in this short video clip. Ellen says, “What you can achieve from just sitting still and just going within, it just really is a beautiful experience.”

Hugh Jackman

Hugh Jackman likes to immerse himself in mediation. He told Oprah Winfrey in an interview, “In meditation, I can let go of everything. I’m not Hugh Jackman. I’m not a dad. I’m not a husband. I’m just dipping into that powerful source that creates everything. I take a little bath in it.” What an inspiring and unique take on this great practice!

Katy Perry

This spunky pop artist practices TM as well! She told Rolling Stone, “I started TMing about five years ago, and it’s changed my life. It’s changed the way I’ve thought about things and it’s changed my attitude. You know how you have a crappy day and something just doesn’t want to go right? I always excuse myself for 20 minutes and then I’m back.”

Kobe Bryant

This legendary NBA player also talked to Oprah about his meditation practices. He says that if he doesn’t sit down and clear his mind, he feels like he is chasing the day. Check out what else he says here.

There are many other celebrities who support meditation, including Oprah Winfrey, Russel Simmons, and Arianna Huffington. So take their word for it and try it out! Maybe you’ll get that young glow that Jennifer has or perhaps you’ll be able to let go like Hugh Jackman.
